The Marcus Rutherford Foundation/Young Adult Cancer Trust is more than just a regular charity. That’s because its committed workers and volunteers (mostly Marcus’s family members, friends and colleagues) receive no pay or other financial rewards.

The foundation has no dedicated or expensive offices to run and maintain. And day to day admin, postage, energy and other costs are kept to an absolute minimum.

Any individuals, organisations or companies who kindly make donations to the Marcus Rutherford Foundation/Young Adult Cancer Trust will see at least 90 per cent of their money helping to fund the foundation’s important, non-profit making activities which include:

New, desperately-needed detailed research into the causes of cancer and how it can be prevented, especially in otherwise fit youngsters.

Help and assistance (via small gifts, cheques, equipment, clothing, etc) for young adult patients in need.

Campaign and lobbying work to ensure that cancer patients in their twenties and late teens get a better, fairer, more compassionate deal from Government, the NHS, and other agencies after diagnosis and during their months or years of gruelling treatment on cancer, intensive care and transplant wards.
